What is Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture is a farmer— and consumer—based movement that allows families to directly access and support farm fresh, local and organic produce and the farmers. An upfront payment in the spring allows the farmer to predict what will be grown and will help the farmer when most needed.

Registration for Borski Farms 2009 CSA program is CLOSED.  Information about the 2010 season will be available in January.

Borski Farms CSA features a wide variety of fresh, organically grown vegetables, fruits, and herbs picked at the peak of ripeness.  Look forward to herb starts, such as oregano, Italian parsley, basil and sage, raspberries and blackberries, fruit from the U.S.U. Extension Orchard in Kaysville, among other specialties. Borski Farms CSA Program is 15 weeks long, starting in late June and ending in early October.

Shares

One share contains a small amount (approximately 1 lb. per item) of 3-5 different items per week.  One share is good for two adults.  If you want ample produce or enough for four or more, 2 shares are recommended.

Pick-up Details

Produce will be bagged and ready for pick up Mondays or Fridays depending on your pick up location.  There should be 3-5 produce items per week, and each item will be pre-portioned. One share is equivalent to one bag of produce. Two shares is equal to two bags of produce.

Everyone will be on the honor system to pick their shares. CSA Notes, sent via email, will be included regularly, and will include information about the produce and recipes.

You are encouraged to pick up your share as early as possible. We suggest keeping a cooler in your car, then take a bag or basket to the pick up point. Then when you get back to your car, transfer your produce to the cooler, and hurry home to your fridge. There will be a sign-in list; please check your name off when you pick up your week's produce.

Out of Town for a Pick Up?

If you can't pick up your produce for the week, please contact us as soon as possible (a minimum of 24 hours in advance), so you can receive credit. One week is equivalent to a $10 credit. Credit can be used at the Salt Lake Farmer's Market or applied to next year's share. Also, with advance notice, we are willing to work with you to arrange to pick up two shares if, for example, you are unable to pick up your share the week before. You will lose your credit if you fail to contact us at all and/or in a timely fashion. Any produce not picked up by 7:00 pm will go to needy families in the area.
